Hoi An was honestly one of the most unexpected highlights of our entire trip! 🏮
Here’s the exact 2-day itinerary we followed - relaxed, magical, and totally doable with a toddler.
📍 Day 1: Arrival & Lantern Magic
• Afternoon: Check in and freshen up. Choose a riverside or countryside resort with a pool so your little one can unwind after travel.
• Evening: Head to Hoi An Ancient Town (UNESCO site). The lanterns light up around sunset — pure magic for kids.
Walk the colorful streets, see the Japanese Covered Bridge, and soak in the vibe.
• Late Evening (9 PM): Thu Bon River boat ride with floating lanterns.
We did this around 9 PM and it was perfect — almost no crowd, peaceful, and even more magical with all the lanterns glowing brightly. Toddlers love releasing their own lantern.
• Dinner: Riverside restaurant with outdoor seating after the boat ride. Fresh pho, rice, or grilled items — most places are very toddler-friendly with high chairs.
Baby Tip: Ancient Town is mostly walkable, but carry a baby carrier for cobbled areas.
📍 Day 2: Sunrise, Nature & Pure Joy
• Early Morning: Catch sunrise at An Bang Beach or nearby. One of those peaceful moments you’ll never forget. Soft sand for toddlers to play.
• Breakfast: Quiet café in Ancient Town - beautiful ambience, slow morning with coffee and fresh juices.
• Late Morning Highlight: Coconut Basket Boat Ride in the coconut forest.
• Afternoon: Slow down completely. Pool time at the resort, riverside café, or nap. No rushing - this is slow travel at its best.
• Evening: Return to Ancient Town when lanterns are fully lit. Shop dresses and footwears, Hoi An is great for shopping custom dresses & footwears.
Hope this helps you plan the most magical Hoi An trip! 🏮🧡
